day 273.

so I am getting really sick of this weather.  because this transitional period does not make for good pictures.  everything is the SAME color.  that being NO color at all.  its annoying.

so I have been trying the past three days to get something besides the outdoors.  or something that brings out color.

hazy daisy.

lots of layers and details...good stuff.

day two 72.

I really like this.  its dirty and rugged.

I just happened to see this when I was driving on main today.  I drive on that road so much, just noticed this today.

nailed down.

mmmmmm love those colors and those big ol' nails poppin' up.

271.

I'm hitting a lull in this blogging, so please, if you have encouraging things to say...share them with me.

I drove around the other night and saw this tacky display in someone's yard.  I happen to know for a fact that this family is a little strange.  but this looked cool in the moonlight, and visually, its interesting.

so I went with it.  even though cherubs freak me out.

say a little prayer.

 pretty.  dark.  simple.

two-seventy.

mark my words, this will be the last post I have that will feature any hint of snow.

I'm glad its not too snowy looking, it looks super spring-ish actually.  it looks like a very transition-of-seasons type picture.

front porch view.

well, isn't that just lovely?  no really.  I love it.

day 269.

oh.my.gosh.

this picture needs no explanation, but it does need a warning - your heart may explode from cuteness overload.

holy crap.

puppy breath.

seriously????  I want a pomeranian puppy RIGHT.  NOW.

day 2 sixty eight.

so I pass this grain silo every time I go from washington to morton.  it looks cool and everything and its so huge.  but I noticed the bottom of it and I loved it cause there were these huge numbers.  I love numbers and fonts and signs and old grainy buildings.

then after editing it and messing with the color, I got a sweet result.

solo silo.

get it?  solo?  3-2...1 (solo).  my attempt at wit.

day two hundred sixty seven.

ok so I'm really starting to think that when this blog is over I might do something involving food.  I love food.  its beautiful and interesting and delicious.

today I wanted to give a nod to my food blog dream.  and I was just too tired to cook.  so I went the one place I know that would give me delicious food that was pretty to look at - cyd's cafe.

what did I get?  a smorgasbord of deliciousness.  vegetable samosa, mango chutney with homemade potato chips and uma's vegetable patty.

it was so insanely good...and I have some left.

thanks for the model, cyd's!  it was DELICIOUS.

take a bite.

SO GOOD.  and the mango chutney is RIDICULOUS.  I love the focus in this.  and the colors.

two-66.

there are few things I love more than finding a little hidden treasure in our unbelievably small neck of the woods.  but then you come across a place with lots of character and lots of great things to offer.  such is the store called relics on adam's in peoria.  its so awesome.

its a baby anthropologie with lots of heart.  I love it.

it was easy to get the picture, it was NOT easy, however, to choose it.  it took me til right now to pick my picture.  and in the end, I went with one that meant more to me as a subject.

I love the written word.  so very much.  this one is pretty.

page turner.

day 265!

oh. my. gosh.

only 100 days left!

well I really like this picture.  I go to my grandma's house once a week to check a couple things for her and get the mail.  she has a piano.  I have a relationship with this piano.  I used to come over in the winter while she was in florida and practice for my lessons when I was in college.  its a special piano and I wnat it someday...a long time from now though cause I want grammy to stick around:)

duly noted.

264.

here we go.

senior night 2011.  I love this picture.  I was not going to even pick a picture from senior night originally, I had taken some pictures by the river earlier that day, but this was just so so so good.

I love that there are like a million things to look at, I love the motion, I love the colors.

red hot flash.

its just perfect.  I don't even care that the cheerleader got in the way cause her bow is fantastic.  the motion of the player in the front is awesome.  the faint outline of ty's face and one more character popping out on the side.  this may be my best action shot of all time.  I had to go back and change the caption after I remembered one called "big red".  but its ok, this caption is good, and a funny play on words.

day two sixty three.

this was hilarious because I got the picture of the day before it was even 8 am.

pretty efficient if you ask me.

there was an area that was storing equipment.  I'm not sure if it was for construction or farming or what.  but it looked SO cool and almost like an animal or something.

claw your way.

rainbow of industry.

day two hundred 62.

beautiful weather, beautiful day.

I stopped while driving through east peoria today because some of the f.o.l.e.p.i. floats were outside the storage place.

anyways, there was a train out there that had american flags on the front.  it was so cool with the blue sky and the sun and I love this picture cause it looks like its moving.

last train home.

pretty cool.

all you need is a willing model and some delicious soft serve, and you've got yourself a picture.

afternoon delight.

goodness me, textures galore!

2-sixty.

so today was pretty neat because its just one of those pictures that you get by chance.  weird things happen and leave beautiful things to photograph.

there's not much to say, really...thank you, kroger parking lot.

hold on tight.

sweet, huh?  love it.

day two fifty nine.

pretty excited about this one.

I went home sick today but before I drank nyquil and passed out, I stopped at cape cod for an opportunity I couldn't pass up.  there were geese everywhere.  they've returned for the spring and they needed somewhere to hang out.  where better than the man-made lake at cape cod apartments.

this looks like its from a brochure advertising to come visit the lakes of minnesota.  its beyond awesome and I'm super proud of the way I set up the shot.  I got down low and noticed more details to capture.

long time gone.

geese migrate, right?

258.

today was a wonderful day.

most sundays are wonderful.  because imago dei church is life changing and the people in it are my family.  when you get to spend every week with amazing people that have a heart for Jesus, none like I've ever seen, its pretty awesome.

today, mr. steve harris preached about justice, as he and his wife les are off to represent imago dei in hondurus, presenting justice and love through service.  we took time at the end of the service to pray over them.  I, of course, couldn't help myself.  I had to get up and rummage my way through my friends in the midst of prayer, to get a good picture.  I may or may not have knocked a couple of people over.

I think it was worth it.

cloud of witnesses.

beautiful.  and thanks, mark, the caption fit perfectly.

day 257.

oh hi.

I was a major bum today.  but I needed to be.  I needed to relax and be alone and do nothing.  I always feel guilty when I sit around and do nothing, like I'm wasting something, but sometimes you just need to recharge.

but I did venture out for a picture.  sometimes I'll just get to the next day of this challenge and ask "is there anything left for me to take a picture of?!"  and I know that's an improper sentence, but I don't give a crap.

off limits.

I like all the layers.  and colors.  and textures.

two hundred 56.

dare I say, this afternoon was...warm?

it truly felt like spring might be on its way.  and this picture is pretty representative of that.  there's no clearer way to tell if spring is coming than birds tweeting and snow melting.

baby peck.

birds are cute.  they're gross and diseased, but they sure are cute.

two-five-five.

worst. day. ever.

this will go down in the 365 history as a traumatic and horrible day.  barely a block from my apartment, I got smashed on my front left side.

I won't go into detail because I just don't want to, but it was awful.  I was shaking and crying but in the meantime, I thought, might as well make a picture out of it.  I needed to take one for legal purposes most likely, but I got as artsy as I could in my moment of shock.  and this is what came out of it.

bits and pieces.

sad.  pretty.  tragic.

thanks, dave clark five, for the caption.

day two hundred fifty four.

well this day I had challenged myself in one way.

take a picture that looks like spring.  not stupid stupid winter, but spring.  I'm so DONE with winter.  I'm sick of looking at this snow.

so I did what I could.

I took some props and took them outside and tried to find any part of town that still had sunlight in it.  there was a church parking lot that was still sporting some sunshine so I layed some fake flowers on the pavement, and voila.

springing up.

doesn't look like its winter, does it?!

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

day 253.

so I don't know if you remember, but this day was the most bitterly cold day ever. it was awful. the wind was terrible.

I had to go grocery shopping but at that point, carrying the bags to the car, I didn't want to make much of an effort to go out and get a picture.

I pulled into a parking lot to take a picture of the overpass and found a friend there. there was a little cat running round in between the trucks. I usually choose to bypass anything having to do with cats, I just don't like them at all, but this looks cool.

back in black.

by the way.  this took me an hour.  stupid blog told me that I was out of picture space, so I had to figure out how to get this here from flickr.  got it figured out now, I hate blogger.

Monday, February 7, 2011

day two hundred 52.

so there's this little hotel sign in sunnyland that I love.

its so so so retro and I love it.  I actually wouldn't mind stealing it for my wall.

enjoy.

checking in.

YES.

251.

this one is sweet.

like pretty sweet, not cool sweet.

I was in my apartment all night and had a very long day.  so I didn't want to go out.  but I'm glad I didn't.  cause I like this one.  thank you, melanie dickey for providing me with a photo subject.

petite paris.

how can a baby statue of the eiffel tower in front of some books be so pretty?

two fifty.

well hello there.

I have been awful.  I do realize.  but I've just not had a minute to myself.

so this lovely saturday morning, I woke up with my lovely girls and we had cinnamon rolls and coffee and it was nummy.  this picture is warm and delicious, just like the rolls.

on a roll.

so freaking yummy.

Friday, February 4, 2011

2 hundred 49.

long day at work.

but my evening took off with t-m-s awesomeness.  including a visit to the grocery store for snacks and junk food.

I love the "new" kroger's.  its beautiful and full of color.  I found these little beauties, I love that this doesn't even look like its at a grocery store.

island keepsake.

I shoulda bought one.

Thursday, February 3, 2011

day 248.

another freezing cold day with shooting pictures from my car.

but I really like this one, it looks like an old picture you find in a drawer at your grandma's.

past the plow.

yum.

two forty 7.

oh hi.

snowed in blizzard day!

I was at my parents house and maci was a little stir crazy.  poor little thing was trapped by snow drifts around the front porch and couldn't go far.  she would sit out there and bark and her little paw prints are everywhere.

she's just so cute.

tiny prints.

2-4-6...

8!

well, as you know, we are snowed in completely.  it has proven to be a grand day.  got some work done this morning and then was told I could discontinue as my office had closed.  so I watched some netflix, got into this AWESOME show "dead like me" - how did I not know about this, and had some lunch.

before long, though, I noticed it was getting pretty bad out.  so I packed up my stuff and went over to my parents' seeing as mom is out of town and I can protect my little car in the garage.  SO glad I did.

I got to catch up on the office and parks and recreation, take a bath, and have delicious spaghetti with dad as we watched seinfeld.  so now I'm reviewing my snow pictures from the day and have found an obvious winner.

somebody modeled for me today, I decided his name is frank.

safe spot.

this goes out to k stinny, though I'm sure she is behind in her blog reading cause this'll be my second shout out.  but that's ok, she'll love it when she sees it.
