334.

prom night, with no rain.

my dear little taylor asked me to come take pictures of her for prom, so I did.  they were fun and cute and helped me think of ideas for posing people and such.

love how this turned out, even though I wish that stupid rug wasn't in the picture.  but I don't know, maybe it adds a nice texture?  and I do love the color gray.

king and queen.

I love the texture of her dress and the body language and how youthful this looks.

333!

oh man, do I love this one.

beautiful and simple.

I don't know why, but I love weeds.  dandelions are glorious and happy looking.  I love the first signs of spring, fields are down, weeds are up, grass is long.  this picture captures all of that.  and hey, the sun was shining for once.

printemps pasture.

I love the depth of this.  and obvs the color.

three thirty 2.

so yesterday when I was at my appointment there were construction guys at the house next door.  there was a truck bed full of debris and I just loved the colors and the way it looked.  I tweaked it and used some textures in photoshop.

pretty trash is the best kind.

filthy rich.

I wanted to steal them and make something sweet out of them.  I love how the truck bed appears to be floating.

3-3-1.

today someone brought roses into my boss, brought her to tears as it had a very special meaning.  they were beautiful and full and smelled freaking great.

so they were my model today.  I love the detail here and the way I focused it.  go me.

coming up roses.

simple, but whatever.

three thirty.

I risk my life for pictures sometimes.

I walked on the edge of the road on garbage and trash up the hill in e.p. and took pictures from the bridge.  a semi literally side-swiped my body.  if I didn't already despise semis, now they can just all go die in a semi cemetary.

anyhoo.

I am in love with this.  I love rustic trainness.

right on track.

bright and dirty.  awesomeness.

3 twenty eight.

sorry - I couldn't decide on this one.

but this is beautiful.

church was beautiful on sunday.  I swear, we sang every song I love.  and what could be better than celebrating love over death, forever?  thank you, Jesus, for conquering everything for me.

light of the world.

three hundred twenty seven.

so good day with the fam, we went to alexander's and had delicious steak, salad and toast.

my favorite part, obviously, is watching them cook.  I love the fire, the smell, the food.  it's awesome.  so here it is.  I like this, somehow I managed to conceal these people's identities.

fired up.

enjoy!

three 26.

good friday.

at imago we had a very solemn service, it was wonderful though.  the coolest thing was the personalization of it all.

during the service they had ali write "my God my God, why have You forsaken me?" and then continued to write the grievances and struggles of different people from the church as they came up and shared.  then by the end, ali had painted a white cross over the words that were smudged together.  it was beautiful.

then during communion the band was playing a slow melodic tune that was really nice and they kept singing "no more words" throughout the chorus.  it was a lovely moment.  that's why I picked this.  to remember that, for me.

at the cross.

amazing.  it was super dark in there so forgive the graininess.

325.

omg.

this is one of my favorites, for like, ever.

this little guy was posing and looking fat and cute and I couldn't resist.  I really wish I could've picked him up and kissed his belly and taken him home.  but I'm sure he was diseases and not as nice as he looks.  he's my pseudo pet, I'm gonna visit him.

bird's eye.

NUGGET!

324.

consider this one experimental and something I'm working on.

I took my first set of long exposure shots on the tripod.  I was cold, the grass was wet, and I was tired, so I focused my efforts as best as I could.

but I was so fascinated because there was this dense fog in the creek and in the fields and I had to get it.  it was awesome.  you can see it snaking around the bend.

fogged over.

I love the colors.

day three hundred nineteen.

pushin' through...

beautiful picture here...featuring umbrellas yet again...but in a totally different light.

we went down to the courthouse during work for "hands around the courthouse" to raise awareness on child abuse.  of course, it was raining.  and cold.  but it looked so cool to see everyone standing around with their umbrellas.

high and dry.

that guy was just standing up there...I think he was a photographer too.  caught ya.  look closely, you can see the rain.

day 317.

life is distracting.

I'll try to catch up on a few of these, but sleep is needed.

I took these by chance, I have already hit up the fire station but never has it made the cut.  but I really like this one.

red hot.

I love the window in the back.  and all the colors.

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

316.

sometimes I set up ridiculous photoshoots with items from my home.

here is my favorite umbrella.  I don't remember where I got it, some cool city somewhere, but I love it.  so on my way home from work I passed one of the many creeks in morton.  it brought me back to my days of creekwalking with jess.  we went all the time.  like seriously every day in the summer.

so what did I do?

I went to the creek.  took my shoes and socks off and rolled up my pants.  then I put my umbrella in the water and watched it float away.  that sucker went fast on the water, I must've looked really cool running in the creek, chasing an umbrella, with a camera around my neck.

anything for a picture, right?

april showers.

I ended up editing the colors a lot cause I didn't want the pinks or any of the coloring to match the flower picture from yesterday.  I love how it turned out.  its crisp and lovely and looks nothing like a creek.

Monday, April 11, 2011

day 3-fifteen.

so I've been SO obsessed with all the spring that is showing up everywhere.

especially the blossom trees!  they are so gorgeous.  love this one, its definitely one of my favorites.  and considering that I took this on my back, in someone else's yard, with my feet strapped painfully tight in my rollerblades...its pretty good.

awesome blossom.

313th day.

fun again!

musical again!

miss tara took me to see "grease!" for my birthday.  it was so awesome.  the show stared out with vince fontaine revving up the crowd.  there were dance moves and singing and he was hilarious.  this captures the mood of the evening.

raise your hands.

pretty fitting that this one is my mom's birthday.  she and I are broadway geeks.
I love it.  it was such a fun night and it made me wanna watch the movie so bad.

Friday, April 8, 2011

day three hundred 12.

so I love this one so much.

sam and I went to the mhs musical - how to succeed in business without really trying!

I have to say, it made me kind of sad because I so badly want to see this show on broadway.  daniel freaking radcliffe.  I really wanna see him get his broadway on.

coffee break.

love it so much.  funniest number in the show.  this ones for you kel!

day 311.

I hope this isn't too redundant of a picture.  I really do try to be diverse, but this one just turned out so lovely I couldn't pass it up.

so please forgive me if it looks all too familiar...of course I'm the only person who has all the pictures engrained into my retinas, so I doubt anyone will mind.

midnight oil.

I loved how the water was sparkling...spring is here.

307.

I don't really wanna post this day.  it was awful.  I found out someone I love passed away.

most people don't have a close relationship with their boss, but I do.  our families have been intertwined for years and she has taught me so much about hard work and growing up.  her husband has been in the hospital for a couple weeks with pneumonia, he was doing better but then he took a sudden turn for the worse.

I'm in shock and I can't even begin to understand what the family is going through.  I've been at my parents' house the past two days, I'm just so grateful that they're here so much so that I don't wanna leave.

I found out about this after church yesterday and after I had time to calm down I remembered that our sermon was about Jesus staying with us through the storms of life.  coincidence?  not in the slightest.  and we sang a particular song, one of my favorites...

all this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
all this earth
could all that is lost ever be found
could a garden come up from this ground at all

you make beautiful things
you make beautiful things out of the dust
you make beautiful things
you make beautiful things out of us

all around
hope is springing up from this old ground
out of chaos life is being found in You

God has shown me some brief glimmer of hope, and I can only hope that he brings beautiful things out of this tragic dust and shows them to this family.

so I was trying to find that hope in this and I wanted to show it in my picture.

out of the dust.

please pray for peace and understanding and overwhelming comfort for the rajkowskis.  the obituary can be found at this link...it doens't even begin to describe what an amazing person don was.

three 06.

somewhat of a self-portrait day, but not really.

the last weekend for a while with my t-m-s girls.  for those of you that don't know, t-m-s is the culmination of three ladies: me, tara, and melissa.  we've been friends since the greenville days and have been celebrating weekends together for several years.

melissa is moving to virginia for her residency.  and tara is moving to indy for a job.  we had one last hurrah and boy did we go all out.

we got some outfits, went to the marina, and the girls let me go nuts with setting up the shots for the day.  this one stood out for sure.  I love the layers and the colors.  its beautiful and I think its pretty fitting for this new adventure we're about to journey on as friends.

bon voyage.

beautiful.  love you both.

day 3-0-5.

this was the first thing I took a picture of...it was early afternoon and I had just finished my lunch at my apartment.

this little tree was featured before in the blog on day 140.

but this is a different view, different time of day, different everything.

I love this.  I keep on wishing I had more wall space.

paprika perch.
